Tabasum Firdous

Dr Tabasum Firdous is the Director and Professor at the Centre of Central Asian Studies, University of Kashmir. She has a PhD in Political Science from the Department of Political Science, University of Kashmir. She has over 60 research papers, monographs, and chapters in edited volumes published in more than ten countries.

She was awarded the Dr D.C. Pavate Fellowship in 2004. Her published books includeIndia-Afghanistan Relations (2024), Central Asia: Geopolitical Dynamics and Shifting Political Patterns (2023), Gendering Women in the 21st Century: A Critical Perspective (2021), Political Reforms in Uzbekistan (2015), Peace Strategies in Central Asia (2005), and Defence Strategies in Central Asia (2001).

She has been actively involved in various developmental and research projects in India and with Cambridge University inter alia. She is Visiting Fellow at the Centre of International Studies, Cambridge University, UK, visiting Fellow at Institute of History, Uzbekistan, and an Honorary Member of IRSEA, Bucharest, Romania.
