Dr. Swati Arun

Dr. Swati Arun is a political scientist and China specialist focusing on U.S.-China relations, Indo-Pacific security, and great-power competition. She holds a PhD and M.Phil in China Studies. Her research sits at the intersection of theory and geopolitics, examining the great-power competition and its systemic impact on the international order. She focuses on China’s strategic and security policy, including military modernisation, maritime strategy and the evolution of collective security architectures in East Asia and the Indo-Pacific. In her previous roles as Consultant, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and as a Visiting Fellow, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of China, Dr. Arun has engaged closely with policymakers, diplomats, and security professionals, contributing to policy research, strategic dialogues, and high-level discussions on India’s foreign, security, and China policies. Her work bridges academic analysis and policy-relevant insight.
